To Those Who Like to Cry

If you want to cry, read the last 2 ayahs of Surat Luqman:

O mankind! Keep your duty to your Lord and dread a Day when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught, nor the child to avail the parent. Surely the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not this world's life deceive you, nor let any deceiver deceive you about Allah.
Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what will it earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things).
(31: 33-34)

Here is a quote I thought you would really enjoy:

"You should always remember two things, and you should always forget two things -- you should always remember Allah (that he is always watching you) and you should always remember death (that you will die soon and meet your Lord)...And you should always forget the harm people have done towards you (because it will build up rancor and ill feeling in your heart), and you should always forget your good deeds (so that you don't feel pride or arrogance)." -- Ali Bin Abi Talib, May Allah be pleased with him

  3. @ muslimah93: go to www.mp3quran.net, click on any sheikh you want (fav: sa'd al-ghamidy) click on surat luqman, turn up the speakers, sit back, and enjoy the words of Allah the most high (SWT).
@veiled knight: I shall live by and cherish these words forever. And mention it at the dinner table, insha'allah.

  5. asalamu alaikum. Regarding the question you asked about khimar, if they are everywhere in egypt then maybe go to an islamic shop and ask there. Or would you like me to send you one?

  6. Assalamu alaikum, Sara

Very few "islamic" shops can be found that truly sell khimars and niqabs, or at least that was the case where i lived, in cairo. I couldn't believe that you would offer to send me one. I would actually be very willing to take you up on your offer. Can you give me an e-mail i could contact you with? We could figure out a way to meet or exchange things, insha'allah. BTW, do you live in Egypt right now?

And Muslimah: i'll check it right now, i promise.
